Good morning.A Punxsutawney man locked up at the Jefferson County Jail is facing fresh felony charges after state police say he attacked a corrections officer. Twenty-six-year-old Brandon Michael Pearce allegedly turned violent during a medication check, when a nurse and guard caught him attempting to hide pills under his tongue. Authorities say Pearce lunged toward the nurse and grabbed the corrections officer by the neck.In regional advocacy news, high school students from Brookville, Redbank Valley, and Clarion-Limestone recently traveled to Harrisburg to lobby state lawmakers for critical crisis center funding. Joining representatives from PASSAGES Incorporated, the teens rallied against devastating budget cuts that threaten vital local counseling programs.And applications open today for a new one-hundred-thousand-dollar downtown revitalization push in Clarion County.
